Q. What is a Kyosho dNaNo?
A. The Kyosho dNaNo is the worlds most advanced micro radio control car.

Q. How small is a dNaNo?
A. On average they are right about four inches long and around one a three quarter inches wide. In the world of fully proportional R/C that is incredibly small.

Q. What does dNaNo stand for?
A. The name is a combination of DNA and Nano. DNA in reference to the car coming from a family of race cars and Nano meaning Nanotechnology, or very small.

Q. What are some of the advanced technologies in a Kyosho dNaNo?
A. Core-less motor, Lithium polymer (LiPo) battery, available gyro unit, 2.4GHz radio system, just to name a few and all wrapped up in a tiny package. You will even be able program the driving characteristics from your PC once the program is in English.

Q. Why does something so small cost so much?
A. There are three reasons for this: First, when you have the kind of features the dNaNo has those costs add up. These are all features that most larger scale cars do not have and are only available as options. Second is manufacturing s extremely expensive when you get into precision parts this small. Tolerances are incredibly tight and the tooling involved has to be as well. Third is that these are not officially available in the U.S. yet. That means we have to bring them from overseas and the shipping costs are large. Also, the products can only be purchased at full retail as it has not been distributed to independent shops as of this writing.

Q. How fast are the dNaNo cars?
A. We have tested them on the Tamiya speed checker and they get to 18 kilometers per hour or 11.2 miles per hour. In scale speed that is 775 kph or 481 mph. Trust us, these little cars rip!

Q. How long will the car run on a charge?
A. Still to be determined. So far we have run them up to 45 minutes on a charge, that is fast and slow driving, and the batteries still had some juice. I would guess about 30 minutes of hard driving. We'll get more accurate numbers. Keep in mind that charging takes 20 minutes or so, that equals lots of driving time.

Q. What batteries are needed?
A. You only need 4 AAA for the radio and 4 AA for the charger, the car battery is the LiPo rechargeable.

Q. Are the bodies interchangeable?
A. YES they are. They do require the body fitting set found in the Autoscale section of the site.

Q. What is a "Gyro"?
A. The Gyro is an electronic device that connects to the dNaNo (don't worry, there is already space for it in the chassis) and aids the driver in maintaining control. When it senses slipping or sliding it will reduce power and counter steer, depending on the situation.

Q. What is so special about a 2.4GHz radio system?
A. One of the advantages of a 2.4GHz system is the interference and glitch-free operation. That mean better, smoother control and faster reaction time to your inputs without the worry of your signal being broken. Another big plus is no more crystals to change when racing with other cars. The 2.4GHz's can be paired with any dNaNo you choose. Up to 40 cars can run at the same time!
